FishmanLab specializes in component-level repair of laptops and all-in-one computers. We don't replace the whole board — we identify the faulty component and fix the root cause. This is typically less expensive, and it works even when a full board replacement isn't possible or practical.
We see a wide range of issues: laptops that won't turn on or charge, no display output, corrupted BIOS after an update, liquid damage, or devices that have already been through an unsuccessful repair. If there's a realistic chance of recovery, we'll say so. If there isn't, we'll say that too.
Diagnostics are charged and carried out as the first step. This allows us to accurately identify the fault and provide a clear estimate of cost and timeline — no guesswork, no surprises. Diagnostics take up to 7 business days. In complex cases — such as tracing schematics, BIOS/EC work, load testing, or sourcing a donor board — this may take longer, and we'll let you know in advance.
We recommend backing up your data before dropping off the device. In cases of severe board damage, data recovery cannot be guaranteed.
Devices with liquid damage are accepted with the understanding that hidden faults may surface during diagnostics or repair — even if the device was working at the time of drop-off. This is due to corrosion, residual liquid, and damage that isn't visible until the board is opened or placed under load. See the diagnostics policy for details.
Repair time depends on complexity and parts availability. Unusual cases may require sourcing a donor board or hard-to-find components.
